Description

A general reconnaissance flying boat developed to specification R.20/31 as the Southampton IV and produced to specification 19/33. The Supermarine  Scapa was first flown in 1932. 14 were built for the RAF between 1934 - 36.The aircraft was flown by No's 202, 204, 228 and 240 Squadrons until 1938.3 Supermarine Scapas remained with training units when the war began and of these, two at FBTS survived until August 1940, although possibly not flown after WWII began.
